Five for Friday 3/11--.Show and Tell (March)

This show and tell is all about the beginning process to creating a classroom that conforms to the "Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale." That is ECERS for short. Here are my baby steps...

My first move was to bring back the kitchen furniture that had been in storage all these years "for a defined interest center."

Here is the addition of sand play area.  I purchased the play sand and tub at Lowe's for about $13.00. Provisions for sand and/or water play was an area I was missing.

Last week we had a beautiful weather day.  I planned a nature walk with the class.  This gave us an opportunity to put together a nature tray. The tray is accessible all day.

This is only one of the nature collections we have.  We also have explored seashells.  The nature/science area is a work in progress.  It is still missing required materials.

Show and Tell Tuesday (February)

Here are my four....

We made Zero the Hero puppets on the 100th day of school.

We are working on word families.  I created this book called "Fran Learns 'An.'"

For Valentine's we worked on patterning.  Notice the hearts on the headbands in an AB pattern.  The children are creating necklaces with patterns also.

Here are the 100th day collages that were created.
